4. Google Drive Integration

4.1 Unified OAuth Application

Our Service uses a single, unified Google OAuth application with incremental authorization to provide the best user experience. We request permissions progressively through one consolidated integration:

Step 1 - Initial Login (Minimal Permissions):

  • https://www.googleapis.com/auth/userinfo.email - Access to your email address for account identification
  • https://www.googleapis.com/auth/userinfo.profile - Access to your basic profile information

Step 2 - Drive Access (When Adding Storage):

  • https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.file - Access to files created or opened by this application
  • openid - OpenID Connect authentication

All permissions are consolidated into a single token for seamless user experience.

4.2 Limited Use Disclosure

Google API Services User Data Policy Compliance: Our use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

We only use your Google Drive data to:

  • Provide the file storage and management features you explicitly request
  • Enable file organization, sharing, and access through our platform
  • Maintain the integrity and security of our Service

We do NOT:

  • Transfer your Google user data to third parties (except as required for service provision)
  • Use your data for advertising purposes
  • Allow humans to read your data unless required for security, compliance, or technical support

4.3 Progressive Consent Benefits

Our unified OAuth application with incremental authorization provides several benefits:

  • Users can explore our platform without granting file access initially
  • Drive permissions are only requested when users want to add storage
  • All permissions are consolidated into a single OAuth application for seamless experience
  • No need to manage multiple OAuth clients or tokens
  • Users maintain full control over which permissions to grant and when
  • Simplified security model with one trusted application
